Too early for reviews. I'm blogging less and need something to write about"

I user to have another blog. For those that are interested its here. You'll find some entertaining stuff there. I left a while ago for personal reason's but I kept it there as I had been using it for a very long time and there are some good thoguht and ideas on there. Somewhere. Promise.

One entry in particular was my "What I'm most looking forward to in 2006" entry, but for some reason unknown to me now, was titled "You can email us."

In it I mention what I am looking forward to in the next year. Here is that list

- Radioheads new album
Despite Thom Yorkes solo album being released, Radioheads new album never arrived. This could be that they currently are not signed to any label. The album is due to be released next year. Some good news is they've scrapped their idea of having a new producer and brought back in Nigel Godrich. (Small mini wave takes place from behind keyboard)
- Radiohead touring with new album
No new album, no album touring. This, again, will take place next year. Although I did check them out at V festival this year. And their set was the greatest musical experience I've had the luck of seeing/hearing.
(On side note, I never went to see A Scanner Darkly in the cinema. I missed alot in the cinema. But much looking forward to getting this on DVD)

- Nintedo Revolution Wii
Its out soon. I. Can't. Wait.
It's on preorder. I have to queue up Thusday night for midnight release on Friday. Im in work Friday so wont get to play it till I'm home. I did catch my first Wii advert on UK TV last night. Even. More. Excited. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

- Moving to Leeds
Did it. Easy. Now I'm moving again. Didn't stay long at all. That is all.

- Seinfeld series 5 and 6
Got them. Watched them numerous times. Possibly bored the missus completely with them. But at least series 7 is out in a week or two.

- Sony PSP
This was one I wasn't sure about. But thanks to the missus getting me a DS, I didnt have to fork out on something Id complained about more then Id love.
PS I have nothing but good things to say about the DS.

In a few weeks I might stick up my "Things Im looking forward to in 2006 part two."
Or what I prefer to call "Things Im looking forward to in 2007."

"Now think Alan think. Do I take it?" Alan Smith thinks about his future.

And with the blogmeet just round the corner. So I can be spotted, here is a photo (taken now while I'm at work) of me. Hope you dont have difficulty spotting me.

Suitably fitting photo.

And with the blogmeet just round the corner. So I can be spotted, here is a photo (taken now while I'm at work) of me. Hope you dont have difficulty spotting me.

After only a few months of being in a relationship, things between me and the missus have worked out much better then I had hoped for. Plans are already being made for me to move down South. These aren't just ideas like "maybe some time soon Ill possible think about it." These are "Yeah the house mates are aware Ill be leaving at the beginning of February," plans.

London was on my list of places to move to when I was thinking about leaving Runcorn. But I decided against it when I figured the cost of living was too high, there wouldn't be suitable jobs for me and that I'd be lost in a very big maze of street corners and roads.

Turns out the cost of living is that much more then what I was paying back in Runcorn. But I would of known this a few months earlier if I had actually looked in to the cost of living in London.

It also turns out there are more jobs suitable to me in London then anywhere else I've looked. And I'm not even looking hard. Again, I'd of known about this earlier, had I actually looked in to it.

So here I am, a little wiser, a little older and in love. Having given up the chance only a few months ago to move to London to live in Leeds, now I can't wait to get to London. Having breifly checked out Gumtree from time to time there are so many jobs that I am more then qualified for that I would feel happy doing. Only problem is I have to wait. And its a bit annoying. All this waiting. But it has to be done. I have to prepare myself.

Thinking about, if I had moved to London instead of Leeds I don't know if things would of worked out as well between me and missus.

Sometimes I get very weird thoguhts in my head. When I was a kid and I used to stand in the block of flats behind my home, looking out over scenary of factories, power plants and spaghettit like roads, while chatting with friends. I often wondered "what it would be like to just fall?"
Not because live was hard and I wanted to kill myself. Not because my friends conversations were bad. But just I could experience it.

Sometimes when on public transport, or when out I think to myself "what would happen if I just hit this person?" Its always with different objects, sometimes it could be a slap on the head, sometimes it could be as severe as an hammer or axe.
Now I dont think this as I want to harm people, but I just wonder what the different reactions would be to different situations. I mean would someone think they were losing if if they felt a slap on there head and everyone was sitting normally?

Lately Ive been thinking about "what would happen if I stepped of a rollercoaster?" I mean that is impossible, and similar to the falling one its not because I want to hurt myself. But what would the reactions be of people around me? Just to see someone stepping off the ride as it makes its start down the first big decline. A whole mixture of screaming because of fear, shock and for the people that hadnt noticed, excitement.

Sometimes I think...

A short and very Halloween themed post today.

Halloween Decorations Done Good

Firstly, its good to see some people getting in to the Halloween Holiday Spirit (pun intended haha)
A house in America has been decorated with a fake plane crash outside. This has cause some concern to some Americans, and alot of confusion for the police.
I just wish there were more people like this! Great work.

Next, I wish I'd posted this yesterday, but if you get the chance to check out this blog, with a complete list of Halloween Themed tracks to download. From the likes of DJ Shadow, Gnarles Barkley to Ryan Adams (if you like that sort of thing) Alot of unknown bands, at least to me, but all free (illegally) but all good. Worth the time to download.

Well my little vampires and witches, I wish you a Happy Halloween. And beware for any asbo'd yobs thorwing eggs at your house, just give them the cookies.

I also have the beginnings of a cold sore, that should scare any kids wishing to "trick" our house. ::Cue evil laugh::

Look at this, an early post. This generally means that something happened last night or this morning that I want to get down before I forget.

There was one subjected that was on my mind while my head lay on my pillow late last night. But as I cant find out what it is that I want to say I'll talk about this morning.

As I walked through the centre I could hear the ramblings of a crowd. I couldn't see anything, but the chatter of ten's of people, a large crowd, could be heard from around the corner. As I walked through the main square area I could see a large, huge (not massive, group of teenagers or students stood outside HMV.

I couldn't think of why they would be stood outside. My first thought was "Has the Wii been released a month and a half early?" I thought this was stupid thought so then tried to work out if anything else would be being released? Mid week? No way. All CDs/DVDs, et al would of been released yesterday.
I did think about walking up to the crowd and asking. But I didnt want to be "one of those foo's in a shirt and tie he isn't cool/with it."
I mean my myspace isn't all sparkly and fan-danggled, I know I'm "not with it."
I still use phrase's like "not with it." I don't need to be told.

So what could it of been?

Well I Googled a few phrases and what I learnt was quite shocking.

Massive huge best selling, top gigging, awsome group, Mcfly are signing copies of their new single.

If being with it means camping outside some shop for an hour on a cold October morning for the chance of some pop group signing a single, then I'm glad to not be with it.

Knowing too much can cause paranoia.

Should you lie to yourself and not gain knowledge, but feel safe?

A few months ago I mentioned how I chipped my tooth on some fruit whist at Fruitstock. Well of late I've been going the dentist. I've had few apointments. One reason for a delay being that my original dentist all of a sudden disappeared. I'd only had a quick check up with him, and by time I got round to my next appointment with him two weeks later he was gone. No reason given, just a new dentist and the old notes.
On one trip to the dentist I had been waiting in the Waiting Room for quite a while. The person before me was a little girl who was having to have a filling or tooth out and wouldnt stop screaming. She was in there a ver long time.

While I waited, in the Waiting Room, many people came and went - as there are two dentist's in the surgery, not that this one dentist was so good he could see two patients at once. It got to 5 and the there was only me left. Id say it was quiet but all you good hear where the high pitched screams from upstairs.

A few minutes later a lady walks in. She must of been in her mid twenties Im guessing. She had arrived 15 minutes late for her appointment and the receptionist said that the dentist was no longer seeing patients.
The lady then went on to moan about how she had trouble getting here, that there was no one else around. She even pointed out that I was still waiting, gave the receptionist a hard time, she was rude and basically demanded that the dentist see her.
Now the dentist didn't mind seeing the patient.

BUT the last people I would ever want to piss off would be someone who is about to stick sharp and point objects in my mouth.

Did this woman have some sort of Pain Wish.
A Pain Wish is a little like a Death Wish, except not as long lasting.

When it come round to my turn to see the dentist I had to say,
"I don't want done what the small girl just had."

Always best to amuse the dentist staff then give them a hard day. Period.

Also I knew I had to pick up sugar.
Both of these are main ingredients in a nice cup of tea.

Well I was surfing around the Beeb a little earlier, when in the Technology news they had a "Breaking News" headline. I clicked to read the story and it went on to tell me that Orange Broadband wasn't working. Since when did broadband ISP connection become "Breaking News"?

I've been discussing with the Missus about watches. I had said that I dont like wearing watches, there isn't many that I would wear. That was until I saw this watch. I think Im adding that to my ever growing wich list. And it is a steal at only £670. Not bad I think.

And anyone booking a holiday to Thailand, I highly recommend this hotel. Check out the pretty pictures of the Muang Kulaypan Hotels room's. Nice!

Also, according to the National Trust, my blog is all wrong. It should really be a recording of my day to day life.
Lets try that out and see how it goes....

I have recently been infromed that my nose hair is quite noticeable, which has led me to looking at Boots and Argos online for cheap nose hair clippers. Is this a sign of premature old age?

Often on a night out with her friends, the taxi ride home is always filled with there annoying songs. Sang only in a way that a group of drunken girls can sing, nicely of course ::ahem::*

Anyway, it seems that Take That won an award the other night. That award was for "Best Live Return Award." Now Im not saying that they shouldn't get an award, their concerts may of been great. I mean they did beat Pink Floyd, The Who and Depeche Mode to win the award. So a little congratulations.

But I'm mainly shocked that the music industry is recognising that most bands that have split up, are now coming back together as the has-beens need some extra cash, and have created an award for the "Best Comeback."

Whatever next, "Best Cover Single"?

* I hope these comments dont mean I hear alot of "Take That" followed by "And That," and me covered in bruises when leaving the taxi after this weekends night out. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

So there is this homeless guy in Leeds that I pass every weekday going to work. Not him going to work, ME going to work.
He is the most popualr of all homeless and Big Issue sellers and has a very unique and top selling way of selling his Big Issues.
Instead of taking the normal route, like most homeless, ie
"Come get your Big Issue." "Please buy the Big Issue." "New copy of the Big Issue." "For fuck sake folks. Come buy a copy."
This guy instead sells like lie this
"Good morning folks." "Hey ladies." "Good day gents." "Have a nice weekend."
This approach seems to work really well. The guy is often talking to people, having his Big Issues bough, I've even seen people drop off fruit, food and brand new boxed trainers to him.

Today heading in to work I seen him chatting to a suit. There was a person inside the suit of course. I didnt stop or hear what was going on but that suit was reaching in his pocket for something. I kept looking to see what would be offered to the homeless person.

Was it change? Was it a larger amount of money? Maybe some food?

Nope! None of them

The suit rummaged through his breast pocket and pulled out....

A Nokia charger.

Just want any homeless person needs.

All he needs now is a wall to plug it in to!

Sometimes I feel that blogging can be really hard. Extremely difficult at times.
Imagine if you will, your a stuntperson, on a bike, in front of a railtrack. A speeding train will be coming past you at any moment, with a gap in one carriage. And you have to jump over the train by aiming for that carriage. And if your timing is of, then you lose you chance.
With blogging, you need that perfect subject that will capture your readers for that day, or that entry depending how gung ho you are.
You need to find that 'gap.'

Otherwise it's just drivle.

I've often partially wrote up an entry, then deleted thinking it was just drivle. Thinking that not even I would want to re-read that particualr entry again. Then go days without writing as I wait for the next idea. The next gap in the carriage. Then sometimes, at work that time comes.
But with being in work often THAT particular time I'm in the middle of the only busiest moment in the day and often I forget the idea and my one moment to jump the track is gone.

A few minutes ago I had a great idea.

And now drivel.

I also read a while back about how Richard Branson was dontaing £1.6 bn to fight global warming. He wanted also for airlines to reduce emissions by having planes taxi'd to and from the run way. Fewer circling routes when coming in to landing, and similar ways to slightly cut the emissions from planes.
A few days later he goes and unveils his new spaceship that will carry passengers in to space for a few hundred thousand pounds.

I guess another way of cutting emissions is not having regular flights in to space. Although this is only my guessing work.

I've never preordered anythign in my life. Ever. Full stop. Right there.

But there is always time to start. There are always things that make you change the way you behave. In my case it was this beauty....

The fantastic Nintendo Wii

Despite never having preordered, I've never anticipated the launch of a console before. They always been the same. But with its remote like pointing device, console gaming will never be dull ever again.

I only have to wait 10 weeks now....

For those that are not sure how the Wii works, if your playing a shotting game, you aim with the reomote and shoot. If you play a tennis/baseball game, you swing the remote like a bat. If your playing a racing game, you tilt the controller like a steering wheel.
Most important, if your playing a Star Wars game you swish the remote like a light sabre.
With a speaker built in to the remote youll hear realistic swooshes and buzzing clashes and you fight with your light sabre.

But enough about that.

On my way to teh post office this morning I noticed a rather large advertisment near some busy road heading to/from the city centre. Thanks to the wonderful technology of mobile phones (and let me tell you, this mobile phone technology can put a smile on ones face) here is a photo of that sign

Now it doesnt say what this advert is promoting. Whether its some movie or "hip" documentary? Whether its a game or movie? No hint.
Now Im nto for or against America, but whats the point in spending loads of money to advertise this slogan. Obviously someone has some beef with the Yanks.

So sometimes I write down in my notebook interesting things that happen to me. This things I can later go on to blog about. This means that alot of things arent in order, as I blog depending on what note takes my fancy, and some things I dont blog about for a while. I still have 3 or 4 things in my note pad from months ago to blog about. I'm just waiting till I know how to word them properly.

But I completely forgot that I had emailed myself a note about a possible topic. The email simple says;

"man in toilet with jump hangin over shoulders

I emailed myself this in work, so I know it happened at work and I can slightly recall a man walking around the mens toilet with some jumper hanging over his shoulders, looking like a lost polo spectator. Dont know why he thought looking in the mens toilets would help him locate a horse. Up to now I've never heard one in there.

But I cant recall what it was about this man with his jumper that got my attention as to want to write about it.

Either way, whatever it was about this strange clothed man, he still got an entry about himself.

Well we lost a housemate but gained another. Since moving in the new housemate has been
a) out with friends who helped her move
b) arranging her room
c) out with her boyfriend, and
d) generally in her room
We have not been out for a housemates drinkathon yet. When I first moved in to the house back in March or April. Me and the housemate who has left had spend every evening out, despite me being jobless, I still managed to go out every night, even if it was for a few pints.
Up to now the new housemate has managed a few bears in the living room. And not that trendy bar establishment. I mean our actual living room.
We have arranged to go out tonight, althoguh the Missus is up tonight and has been feeling very sick, so I might have to make my byes after a short time.
But when I was looking forward to the new housemate arriving I was looking for the kind of housemate where one would shout "Pub!?!" loudly through the house and all others would then head for the door.
Not the kind of housemate where we have to check everyoens schedule, "No tonights not good I have to be up early." "Yeah, I cant do saturday as I'm out." "I'm visiting family on Friday. Next week perhaps?"

Maybe its just a bit of a busy week for everyone and I'm jumping the gun.
Maybe the new housemate just likes to be organised and have her room all set out perfect, then she can enjoy herself. I mean I cant see the excuse of "Im putting up shelves and making my bed," being used often.
I guess I was kind of expecting the same company that I got when I moved in.
But saying that, I'm still living out of boxes and havent even thought about putting up shelves. I mean it took me two months to get a bed in my room.
But nevermind, Nintendo;s Wii will be out soon, so I'll be locking myself in my room and not coming out for hours.

I want to post photos of Vienna. I will get round to it. Its just that with teh housemate moving out, the phone line/net bill was under her name and had to be cancelled so the other housemate could register. Nope no simple name changing here.
Depiste not having much to do, the housemate still hasnt got round to getting a phone line and net conenction.
But if I get a quite moment in work, Ill try and post a few shots.

But here is a teaser of Minky's Travels in Vienna

Yes, my photos should be here soon, yes I have a new housemate, but I don't want to write about any of that.

Instead I want to bring your attention to this article I read about Lindsay Lohan.

It says how Lindsay was rushed to hospital as she had fallen over in flat heel shoes and damaged her wrist.
Pretty stupid I know, but people do fall over for many reason. The Missus is forever stumbling. In fact she often stumbles, I've started to think its not so much she is tripping up, more that she is trying to get in to the Ministry of Silly Walks.

But the bit that has got my attention the most is,

"[Lohan's publicist] adds, "there's a pending investigation" to determine whether Milk Studios took adequate health and safety precautions with the ground."

Whaaaaaaa? People now have to get adequate health and safety precautions for the ground now?
I can imagine the warnings now,
"Please be aware when walking, as gravity has a habbit of suddenly appearing randomly to pull you down"
"People wishing to commute are advised to crawl, preferable on their stomachs, as we are not insured for this path."

What a load of stupidity.

And on that note, I'm off to wriggle down the stairs, as I dont think I can reach the elevator button from the floor.

Well my photos are currently bing developed. I'm wainting for them to be finished (Wednesday) so I can try out more of a photo journal thing write up of Vienna.
Plus while at Vienna zoo, the Missus noticed the battery and memory on her camera were running out fast. Luckily we noticed a tent were the nice folk at Canon were handing out free DVD recording equipment (click here for equipment details) for people to make there own zoo movies. They were also giving the actually recorded DVD away for free. Frei, as the Austrians would say.
Anyway, we are waiting to get download some software to turn the DVD to MP4, or another format, then we can show everyone all the best bits. Includng some surprises with baby animals!

But let me tell you a little about the weather. Not todays weather, its nice by the way up here.
But yesterdays weather was slightly different.
All day yesterday it had been a horrible and overcast day. Then at about 3 the sky started to get really dark. Making it look like it was evening.
Then the thunder started. Now while I've worked in this office there have been a few thunder storms.
Now normally I cant here much from the outside in here. Where I sit in the office is right next to the wall which is neighbouring Leeds train station. There is alot of trains that pass buy, but due to good building planning and insulation, there is little noise from the outside that I can actually here. If you were to step out the doors the noise is the same as any main train station. Very loud.
But last night the thunder was striking right next to work and the noise wcould clealy be head over everything else that was going on inside the building.
Then it seemed like the sky had cleared up as it was not longer dark, but grey. But on closer inspection the greyness was actually rain. The reason it wasn't so clear was the raion was moving horizontal rather then vertically.
I read that apparently 10 days worth of rain had fell during this storm.
All this bizarre extreme weather had lasted the whole of 30 minutes.
After the 30 minutes up teh storm disappeared faster then it arrived and we have had clear skies here since 4 yesterday.
It felt weird to go from almost pitch black clouds, to cloudless within an hour.

It turns out alot of damage was caused. Trees were uprooted, roofs blown off. Some people even claim to have had there cars lifted off the ground by tornados.

But here are some other reports about yesterdays weather, thanks to the BBC.
The BBC's first report.
The BBC on the clear up afterwards.
Some photos sent to the BBC. Could the first picture be the start of a tornado?
