Or "I shouldn't complain, I should do more."
So there is this homeless guy in Leeds that I pass every weekday going to work. Not him going to work, ME going to work.
He is the most popualr of all homeless and Big Issue sellers and has a very unique and top selling way of selling his Big Issues.
Instead of taking the normal route, like most homeless, ie
"Come get your Big Issue." "Please buy the Big Issue." "New copy of the Big Issue." "For fuck sake folks. Come buy a copy."
This guy instead sells like lie this
"Good morning folks." "Hey ladies." "Good day gents." "Have a nice weekend."
This approach seems to work really well. The guy is often talking to people, having his Big Issues bough, I've even seen people drop off fruit, food and brand new boxed trainers to him.
Today heading in to work I seen him chatting to a suit. There was a person inside the suit of course. I didnt stop or hear what was going on but that suit was reaching in his pocket for something. I kept looking to see what would be offered to the homeless person.
Was it change? Was it a larger amount of money? Maybe some food?
Nope! None of them
The suit rummaged through his breast pocket and pulled out....
A Nokia charger.
Just want any homeless person needs.
All he needs now is a wall to plug it in to!
Well, that's helpful!
He might as well have given him a satellite dish.
I used to have a homeless friend in Putney. I'd buy him a Big Mac and coffee about twice a week, instead of throw money at his feet. It wasn't my money anyway, it was my student grant.....
